Jangmookido Gup Promotion Test
Ranking and grading in Jangmookido is based on expectance, experience and fun. Grading for talented children, youth and adults students is a same way. In contrast, Being a great student and being a great instuctor are two different things, and therefore students and instructor ranks are tested and awarded separated. Although the word degree and grading is associated with the word Dan (black belt). In Korean martial arts talks about Gup as belt level under Dan grad and the Gup are divided into three levels:
Cho - Biginner level • Joong - Middle level • Sang - High level
There are ten steps from white belt, up to 1 Dan black belt.
